We all need that energy boost to help us take on the day. Replace your morning coffee or chemically filled energy drinks with this healthy great tasting green smoothie; I call it the green energizer! And believe me; it truly lives up to its name. I love having this green smoothie before a run or before I hit the gym. It’s my elixir on those days I wake up feeling like a zombie.  The secret behind this smoothie is the energizing super foods in it. It always leaves me wanting to do a million cartwheels. It’s the perfect natural energy boost!

Energizing Green Smoothie Recipe


Time: 10 minutes
Calories: Approximately 426 Calories

This green smoothie is satisfying, delicious, and filled with energizing fruits and vegetables. It’s also vegan so everyone can enjoy it! I recommend that you have this smoothie in the morning or early afternoon; green tea has caffeine which can keep you awake at night.

INGREDIENTS


1/2 cup cold green tea
2 cup spinach
1 kale leaf
1 medium apple, cored, peeled if not organic
1/2 cup crushed pineapple
1/2 banana
1 kiwi
1 orange
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon grated ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoon flax seeds
mint leaves, optional for decoration
3 ice cubes (optional)

DIRECTIONS


1. Blend green tea, spinach, and kale until smooth.

2.  Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth.

Tips

  • Make a big pot of green tea a few hours before making this green smoothie and chill it for a few hours.
  • Freeze banana to make smoothie cold
  • You can chill the smoothie in the refrigerator to your desired temperature
