This is for all the dreamers out there. You know who you are. Wide-eyed, mystified, and humbled. You believe that any day now, all your dreams could come true. I’m talking to you! If you’ve been dream chasing for a while now, you probably know by now that sometimes the struggle is oh so real. To chase your dreams you have to have courage, drive, and a thick skin. It isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s much easier not to dream and be just ordinary but you know and I know, for a dreamer, ordinary is not an option. Why couldn’t dream chasing play out like all the Hollywood movies? You have an idea, you follow through, you get it out there, everyone loves it, and bing-bam-BOOM; all your dreams come true! But this is real life, we live in the real world; the place that tells you, “don’t dream, just settle.” Essentially, chasing after our dreams doesn’t always look as glamorous as we might hope.
I want to tell you a little story to paint a picture for you of a realistic path to a fulfilled dream. You can also watch the video below!

Sometimes to chase your dreams, it’s a little more simple, and a little less movie magical.
Sometimes we wake up early in the morning and ponder what it would be like if all our dreams came true today.
We make breakfast, walk the dog, and get ready to leave home for work. Maybe we take a 1-hour bus ride that’s actually a 10-minute car ride to get to our job. Maybe we ponder ideas for our dream and write them down on the way. Maybe we make our way to our job and enter with a smile even though we know it will be a long hard day on our feet. Maybe we fold, hang, help the customers and smile.
Maybe our retail job isn’t our ultimate dream but we’re filled with gratitude to have it.
Maybe it’s late and it’s time to go home. Your feet hurt and your feeling tired but you still feel accomplished. You walk back to the bus stop and wait 30 minutes for the bus. You still have a smile on your face though it’s a bit dim. The bus comes and you take that same hour route home. Maybe you take that time to dream again.
Finally, you get home and you plop down on the couch after a long day on your feet.
Maybe half of your paycheck goes to savings to fund your dream. Maybe you work that job just to support your dream. Maybe life isn’t perfect but you’re inspired by your aspirations. And with all the hard work you put into your hearts desires, you’ll achieve it one day, and you’ll truly appreciate it because of everything you did to make it happen.
And I know because a little dream of mine came true!
My dream is to travel the world, make creative content, and make people smile. I have learned that one day; that bus ride could become a plane trip, a retail job can become a fulfilling career, and those tired aching feet could walk you into your destiny! You just have to dare to chase your dreams and follow the music!
Live a life that’s muzic to your ears!
